Chris Van Allsburg- Probuditi!
We have read so many wonderful stories by Chris Van Allsburg and enjoyed so many of them. I would like you to respond to our reading of the newly published Probuditi!
"For his birthday, Calvin's mother gives him two tickets to see Lomax the Magnificent, magician and hypnotist extraordinaire, along with the very strong hint that he should bring little sister Trudy. But it is Calvin's birthday, so he invites his friend Rodney instead. They are amazed by what they see, and when Mom later goes out, leaving Calvin in charge of Trudy, the boys decide to finally include her in the fun — by making her the first subject of their homemade hypnotizing machine."On the blog, working with a partner, you are to write a Begiining Middle and End- Summary. This should be at least 3 paragraphs. In addition, you and your partner should compare this story to at least one other book by the author, including specifics and an opinion of this compared to the other. B: We Said: I thought the story was weird, and surprising in the end. I enjoy stories that make you think another thing, than the thing that is really happening. Because she wasn’t really hypnotized she just wanted to get her brother in trouble. I like the illustrations but I wish they could have had color! I agree. Summary: It was Calvin’s B-day and he put a fake spider in his sister Trudy’s bed, he got in trouble. For his B-day he got 2 tickets to Lomack the Magician and Hypnotist, he gave 1 to his friend instead of his sister. In the show the magician amazed them by putting a candlestick through his ears, then later he asked a women up from the audience and had her stare at a swirling disc, then told her to be a chicken and she did, then he called POBUDITI! And she returned to normal.
M: When they got home, they had to look after his sister. He tried to hypmotize her and told her she was a dog. She started acting like a dog they had fun with her. Then the mean old niehbour threatened to call the dogcatcher when she was barking to loud. They were starting to get worried, so they had an idea that they should snap her out of it but they forgot the word that would snap her out of it, they decided to go visit Lomack the magician. On the way they saw an ice cream parlor and bought ice cream they gave some to Judy. They spotted Lomack’s Limousine, but they missed it, they sadly walked home.
E: He then had an idea to supprise her so they took 2 garbage can lids. He also poured water on her she screamed and jumped up just then his mom came around the corner. To be Continued…………….
We are comparing this story to The Wretched Stone, because they both have hypnotic things in it. I think that Probuditi is better Drew thinks the wretched stone is better. But in terms of illustrations we think the Wretched stone’s a lot better!

Intro
The Probuditi was good but we liked The Wretched Stone.
B. Calvin’s B-day was today and he got to get a birthday present. His birthday present was tickets to Lormax the Great. He ran over to his pals place next-door.
M. They had come back from the theater and were thinking about hypnotism and hypnotized Calvin’s sister Trudy. They made her a dog.
E. They came back from looking from Lomax. They wanted to get Trudy out of the hypnotized state. They scared her and she cried. They got in trouble.
We are comparing Zathura and Probuditi.
We liked Probuditi a lot but we like Zathura the best because, of the games, the two brother were Fighting (Ryan said that) and the robot. We liked Probuditi’s illustrations better because Trudy is hypnotized and she looks weird.
We also like that the same guy that is in Probuditi and in Zathura. In Probuditi his name is Rodnie and in Zathura his name is Walter.

Probuditi!
B: The book starts out with Calvin a young boy who plays pranks on his sister Trudy. And hasn’t grasped the concept of loving siblings. Like the Budwing brothers in Zathura (Another CVA book.)
His birthday is on the day he plays this prank. When he goes down stares his mother surprise him with tickets to see a Lomacks The Magnificent who does magic/hypnotizing.
M: Lomacks hypnotizes a woman into thinking she is a chicken. To get her out of this he shouts PROBUDITI and snaps his fingers. The boys are very amazed. They want to do what he did so they try it on his sister Trudy, into thinking she is a dog. The problem is they can’t get her out of it! They have forgotten the word. (Probuditi) They deiced to go find Lomacks at his theater, they plop Trudy in the wagon and start there journey p the big hill. When they get the corner right across from the theater they also see an ice cream parlor. And couldn’t resist the temptation of the To Be Continued...
Comparing to other CVA stories
Probuditi! Vs. Zathura
In both books the siblings don’t really get along that well. In both Zathura and Probuditi something very unsual happens to the Kids (As in most CVA books.) Both books have different color skims. IN Probuditi The colors he draws in is Red. Zathura is Black/Grey. Our opinion of ‘’Probuditi’’, is:

I thought the book was really good I liked the setting of the book and it was cool because Truty (Calvin’s sister) was tricky with Calvin and his friend. Chris Van Allsberg has written lots of books like Polar Express, The Sweetest Fig and The Widows Broom.We liked how Trudy didn’t get hypnotized but calvin and his friend thought she was. this book was like the book the sweetest fig and zathura
Summary:
B:
In the beginning they went to a magic show with Lomax The Magnificent they got home and tried to hypnotize his sister Truty and made her think she was a dog. They took her outside and she chased squerles and howled at them and acted like a dog.
M: Then they tried to change her back into a human again but they couldent so they decided they would go and try to find Lomax The Magnifacent on their way there they got an ice cream cone because they where hot as in the heat then when they both had a lick they gave it to calvins sister trudy and she ate it like a dog.
E:
They tried to find Lomax but he passed in his limo. They got home and thought they could scare her to get back to her to being a human like getting rid of the hiccups.
Probuditi
Beginning: It was Calvin ‘s birthday, from his mother he got two tickets to Lowmacs The Magnificent Magician/Hypnotist show. He invited his friend Rodney to come with him.
At the magic show Lowmacs turned some lady in the audience to thinking she was a chicken. Then Rodney and him went to Calvin’s home to make his sister Trudy Think she was a dog by hypnotizing her.
Middle: Calvin takes Trudy outside to take a walk. It’s fun until the grumpy lady outside yells at them for the loudness of their “dog”. Then they decide it’s not as fun as they thought it would be, so they try to change her back. They end up forgetting the word and having to take their little red wagon and put Trudy in to it. Then they walk to try and see if Lop Macs The magnificent can change her back.
End: Lowmacs drives away as they are eating ice cream. They take Trudy back; she fell asleep on the way home. To snap Trudy out of it, Calvin dumped water on her. She jumped up screaming and crying her eyes out, just then her mother came home. Calvin was grounded to his room with just a peanut butter sandwich. Trudy comes in and says, “ The spaghetti was very good, and so was the chocolate cake. You know what else I liked? The Chocolate ice cream, Its my favorite. To be continued…

The story is about a kid named Calvin. He starts out in trouble and it is his birthday. He is in trouble because he put a fake spider in his sister Trudy’s bed. Then at breakfast he gets tickets to Lomax the Magnificent. He invites his friend Rodney to go with him. Lomax is a great magion and hypnotist in their town. After the show with his friend they got his sister to test out a new invention. A hyphno wheel. Then they tried it out on his sister. She stared into to it for a while and they told her she was a dog and snapped their fingers. She started barking and drooling. To be continued…
B In the morning Calvin scarred his sister Trudy. His mom said he had to say sorry to his sister if he wanted his birthday present. He said sorry and he got tickets to see Lomax the Magnificent. He took hid friend Rodney to see it with him.

Aylah and I liked the book Probuditi. We also liked the book The Sweetest Fig.
We noticed that there was a dog in The Sweetest Fig and in Probuditi. Some of the characters in The Sweetest Fig are in Probuditi. One of the characters is the old lady in Probuditi looks like the women that gave Bibot the figs in the book The Sweetest Figs. We liked them both a lot.

B The beginning was Calvin put a plastic spider in Trudy’s bed and then he starts Laughing. And then his mom got mad at him. Then he had breakfast and he got his birthday present and it was tic it’s to Lomax the magnificent. Then his mom wanted to invite his sister but he said no. Then he went to his friend’s house and invited him to the show instead of his sister.

It's Calvins Birthday and In the mornimg Calvin puts a fake spider into his little sisters bed.He's mom says that he has to say sorry or he wont get his birthday present. He say's sorry and his birthday present is two tickets two Lomax the magnifacent a person who is really good at hipnotizing people. He takes his freind rodney to the show. When they come back. They had saw a hipnotizing act and they were thinking about hipnotisom. When they get home calvins mom goes out shopping and Calvin and Rodney had to watch Trudy. They make a spinning wheel and hipnotize Trudy into being a dog.
M: They have fun playing with her. Then they relized that calvin's mom was going to came back soon. They put Trudy into a wagon and roll her to the theater. Before they got there they saw a ice cream stand and got some ice cream they gave some to Trudy. Then they saw Lomax's limo and try to his attention but it dident work.
E: Then they went home to calvins house. Then Rodney had a idea that if they scare trudy she might think she's a human agein. They poured water on her and banged trash cans together. It worked but it made her crie. When calvins mom came home Trudy was crieing Rodney ran home and Calvin got in alot of truble.
I like the book Zathura better becuase I like the illatratins and the story better.

Calvin’s momma saw it and sent Calvin up to his room. Trudy gave Calvin a sandwich. She tolled him how good the spaghetti and chocolate cake were. Then she asked why she couldn’t remember that she was hypnotized and Calvin said “If you remembered that means you were really not hypnotized. Beginning: It was Calvin ‘s birthday, from his mother he got two tickets to Lowmacs The Magnificent's Hypnotist show. He invited his friend Rodney to come with him.
At the magic show Lowmacs had some lady in the audience to thinking she was a chicken, then by saying simply, "Tabuditi!".
Then Rodney and him went to Calvin’s home, on the way home they were talking about the happy birthday dinner. "How 'bout some of that spaghetti?"
" With Meatballs!" yelled Rodney
" And some of that chocolate cake your mom makes!"
Later at the house Trudy was banging on Calvin’s bed room door. Then Calvin opens the door and asks, " Hey Trudy, want to be part of an experiment?"... The hypno' ray worked! Then he said to her..." Trudy can you hear me?" She nodded her head yes. "You are a dog." she fell to the floor and rolled.

Then they saw an ice cream shop.
End: Lowmacs drives away as they were eating their chocolate ice cream. They are forced to take Trudy home while she was hypnotized. Then Trudy fell asleep on the way home. After tugging her all the way home Calvin devised a plan, they would pour could water on her while banging pots and pans. She jumped up screaming and crying her eyes out, just then her mother came home. Calvin was grounded to his room with just a peanut butter sandwich. Trudy comes in and asks, " If you hypnotized me then how come I don’t remember?"
" Because if I really hypnotized you would and didn't know!" After Trudy waited for Calvin to stop laughing she said, " I really liked the spaghetti, and the cake was good too." Calvin just grunted
" You know what else I liked?... The chocolate ice cream we had that afternoon, you know Chocolate is my favorite."

Then Lomax said “Probuditi” and lady turned back into a lady. Everyone laughed. Calvin and his friend went home. They made a hypnodisc. They used it on Calvin’s sister and told her to be a dog. She pretended to be a dog. She sat down on the floor and started barking. They took her outside and she barked and chased squirrels. A mean old lady said to keep the dog quiet or she would call the dog catcher. Calvin and his friend tried to see Lomax so he could change his sister Trudy back but they saw an ice cream parlor and got an icecream with chocolate chips. Calvin and his friend both had one lick but Trudy ate it in three bites. They saw Lomax’s limosine and they ran out to the street calling “Lomax! Lomax!” but the light changed and Lomax drove away.
E. They sadly pulled Trudy back home. Trudy fell asleep like a dog and when they touched her she growled like a dog. The friend suggested that they scare it out of her. So they got some trash cans and a bucket of water and Calvin poured the bucket on Trudy. She woke up and the friend bashed two trash can tops together. Trudy started crying and stood up on two feet. Right when that happened Calvin’s mom drove up. Calvin was sent to his room and didn’t get his birthday dinner. Calvin told Trudy what he did to her and Trudy said, “Yeah, I liked my icecream cone with chocolate chips. You know its my favorite.”

B: It is Calvin’s birthday and he is playing tricks on his little sister (Trudy). His mom gives him his present. It is 2 tickets to LOMAX THE MAGNIFICENT(A hypnotist that barely ever comes to town). He gives a ticket to Rodney(his best friend)and said, “You’re going with me!!!”
M: At the show Lomax gets a volunteer. He puts a spinning wood circle down on the ground with black and white stripes. The lady sits in front of it and stares (no blinking). Then Lomax whispers something in her ear. Then he says, “Act like a chicken.” The woman did things like a chicken. Then Lomax says, “PROBUDITI!!!” And she stopped.
E: Calvin and Rodney got home. Mama said she was going to the beauty shop and after she will go shopping. She also said that Rodney and Calvin had to watch Trudy. Trudy was banging on Calvin’s door. “Let me in! I can help for what you’re doing!” Calvin slowly opened the door with a smile on his face. “You can be our volunteer.” Calvin opened the door all the way and she walked in. There was a structure that was attached to a disk that had black and white paint on it. They told Trudy to sit on the chair and look at the disk. It started spinning. She got really squirmy and all of a sudden she stopped and didn’t blink at all. She was hypnotized. They said, “You’re a dog now.” She barked and got carried down the stairs. After a while Calvin and Rodney got bored of taking care of her but they forgot how to get her out of hypnotized mode. They put her in a wagon and went off to see Lomax. On their way they got a chocolate mint ice cream. Trudy ate some too. They saw Lomax’s car drive by and gave up hope. They went home and tried to scare her hypnotized thing out. It worked. Their Mama saw and they got in trouble. They went up to his room without his birthday meal. You’re left wondering if Trudy was faking it.

Probuditi! Vs. Zathura
In both Zathura and Probuditi something very unsual happens to the Kids (As in most CVA books.) Both books have different color skims. IN Probuditi The colors he draws in is Red. Zathura is Black/Grey. My opinion on ‘’Probuditi’’, was I think that it was funny, yet partly un believable. My opinion on zathura is that it was very exiting, and simular to Probuditi the kids aurn't always geting along.

B: The book starts out with Calvin a young boy who plays pranks on his sister Trudy. And hasn’t grasped the concept of loving siblings. Like the Budwing brothers in Zathura (Another CVA book.)
His birthday is on the day he plays this prank. When he goes down stares his mother surprise him with tickets to see a Lomacks The Magnificent who does magic/hypnotizing.
M: Lomacks hypnotizes a woman into thinking she is a chicken. To get her out of this he shouts PROBUDITI and snaps his fingers. The boys are very amazed. They want to do what he did so they try it on his sister Trudy, into thinking she is a dog. The problem is they can’t get her out of it! They have forgotten the word. (Probuditi) They deiced to go find Lomacks at his theater, they plop Trudy in the wagon and start there journey p the big hill. When they get the corner right across from the theater they also see an ice cream parlor. And couldn’t resist the temptation of trying the hypnotizing them selves. So they try it on Trudy into think she is a dog. And it works. The problem is they can’t get her out of it! They try snaping there fingers and yelling words close to Probuditi but just can get the word right.
E: Since they can’t get her out of this by them selves they decied to go to Lomacks at the theater. They plop Trudy into the wagon and away they go up that big hill on that hot sunny day. When they get into sight of the theater they also spy a Ice Cream Parlor. They just couldn’t resist the temtaion of that clod ice cream on a hot day. They give some to Trudy. When they come out of the Ice Cream Parlor They see Lomacks car but its going to fast so they couldn’t catch him. When they walked back to the house they thought that they could shock her out of it by throwing a bucket of water on Trudy and it worked.

M. Whose the other ticket to? Well I know someone who would love to Before mama finished Calvin ran out the door to get Rodney they went to Lomax the great. I need a volunteer from the audients a women came from the audients the lady sat down and then when Lomax said you’re a chicken the lady cluck and ran around the stage now when I say the word PRUDBUDITI you will stop.
E. They went home, and turned Calvin’s sister into a dog while their mom was away but when they wanted to turn her back to her normal non-dog (sort of) state, they forgot the word they had to say, so they decided that they would surprise her, so they dumped water on her and banged pots and pans in her ears. Even though they returned Trudy to normal,
Calvin’s mom drove back in and Calvin was sent to his room. He had PB and J while his sister had his B-Day dinner.
Moral: Never turn your sister into a dog.
I didn’t like it that much, It was way worse than The Wreck of The Zephyr.

Hi my name is Sabrina and I am going to tell you about this story called Probuditi.
Then I am going to compare a book called the sweetest fig and Probuditi.
B: In the morning Calvin scarred his sister Trudy. His momma said he had to say sorry to his sister if he wanted his birthday present. He said sorry and he got tickets to see Lomax the Magnificent Lomax is a magician. He took hid friend Rodney to see it with him.
M: Calvin and Rodney saw Lomax pick a women and he hypnotized her. Then when they got home his momma was making spaghetti and chocolate cake for his birthday. His momma said she was going to go to the store and Calvin and Rodney had to watch Trudy Calvin’s younger sister. Calvin and Rodney made a hypnotism weal. Trudy was knocking on the door and they let her come in so they could try to hypnotize her. They did it and she turned into a dog. Then they could not turn her back. So they went to find Lomax and Lomax drove right past them.
E: They got ice cream and went home. On the way back Trudy fell asleep in the wagon that they were pulling her in. They thought when she woke up she would be a human again. So Calvin poked her and she bit him. When they got home they tried to find a way to turn her back into a human so they got a bucket of water and two trashcan lids and Calvin dumped the water on Trudy’s head and Rodney banged the trashcan lids in front of her face. Calvin’s momma saw it and sent Calvin up to his room. Trudy gave Calvin a sandwich. She tolled him how good the spaghetti and chocolate cake were. Then she asked why she couldn’t remember that she was hypnotized and Calvin said, “If you remembered that means you were really not hypnotized. Then she said “Oh yah that ice cream you gave me this after noon was good you know chocolate chip is my favorite.

I liked the book Probuditi. I also liked the book The Sweetest Fig.
I noticed that there was a dog in The Sweetest Fig and in Probuditi. Some of the characters in The Sweetest Fig are in Probuditi. One of the characters is the old lady in Probuditi she looks like the women that gave Bibot the figs in the book The Sweetest Figs. I liked Probuditi a lot better because 1 the drawings 2 I had herd The Sweetest Fig so many times and 3 I liked the story better.

Book Review By PAUL! AKA: P. Sizzle I thought the book was really good I liked the setting of the book and it was cool because Truty (Calvin’s sister) was tricky with Calvin and his friend. Chris Van Allsberg has written lots of books like Polar Express, The Sweetest Fig and The Widows Broom.We liked how Trudy didn’t get hypnotized but calvin and his friend thought she was. this book was like the book the sweetest fig and zathura Summary: B: In the beginning they went to a magic show with Lomax The Magnificent they got home and tried to hypnotize his sister Truty and made her think she was a dog. They took her outside and she chased squerles and howled at them and acted like a dog. M: Then they tried to change her back into a human again but they couldent so they decided they would go and try to find Lomax The Magnifacent on their way there they got an ice cream cone because they where hot as in the heat then when they both had a lick they gave it to calvins sister trudy and she ate it like a dog. E: They tried to find Lomax but he passed in his limo. They got home and thought they could scare her to get back to her to being a human like getting rid of the hiccups. they tried that they poured a bucket of water on her and she turned back! just then his mom went into the driveway and saw what he had done then he had to go in his room on his birthday! later on he learned that his sister really was not hypnotized and she just pretended to be all like a dog

B: I thought the story was very surprising in the end. I enjoy stories that make you think another thing, than the thing that is really happening. Because she wasn’t really hypnotized she just wanted to get her brother in trouble. I like the illustrations but I wish they could have had color! Summary: It was Calvin’s B-day and he put a fake spider in his sister Trudy’s bed, he got in trouble. For his B-day he got 2 tickets to Lomack the Magician and Hypnotist, he gave 1 to his friend instead of his sister. In the show the magician amazed them by putting a candlestick through his ears, then later he asked a women up from the audience and had her stare at a swirling disc, then told her to be a chicken and she did, then he called POBUDITI! And she returned to normal.
M: When they got home, they had to look after his sister. He tried to hypnotize her and told her she was a dog. She started acting like a dog they had fun with her. Then the mean old neighbor threatened to call the dogcatcher when she was barking to loud. They were starting to get worried, so they had an idea that they should snap her out of it but they forgot the word that would snap her out of it, they decided to go visit Lomack the magician. On the way they saw an ice cream parlor and bought chocolate chip ice cream they gave some to Judy. They spotted Lomack’s Limousine, but they missed it, they sadly walked home.
E: He then had an idea to surprise her so they took 2 garbage can lids. He also poured water on her she screamed and jumped up it worked! Just then his mom came around the corner. She was VERY angry his friend ditched him in fear. Later that night his sister came up with a platter with a pickle a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a glass of milk, so what really happened I don't remember. Well I hypnotized you and you acted exactly like a dog! Hahaha! He teased but why did I not remember? If you did it would mean you weren’t hypnotized! "Ohh, you know that spaghetti was good and so was the cake! But I also like the ice-cream chocolate chip is my favorite kind! The End
We are comparing this story to The Wretched Stone, because they both have hypnotic things in it. I think that Probuditi is better . But in terms of illustrations I think the Wretched stone’s a lot better! Because its illustrations are in color. Thing that are the same: The idea of hypnotism, the same good tricky or funny ending, same sort of problem kind of. Things that are different: The illustrations, the main plot of the story, The Setting, the characters the format of telling the story.
Setting and Characters from Probuditi: The main character is Calvin he is a mischievous little boy. Also there is his sister Trudy she is also mischievous she likes getting revenge. There is Calvin’s friend Rodney: Rodney is apparently not a very good friend because when Calvin gets in trouble he runs away. Those are the main characters. Profundity I think is set somewhat in 1990’s because it’s modern but not too modern.
Setting and characters for the wretched stone: they do not really mention names in this book. The main character is a writer and it puts you to be reading his diary. The others are all sailors none of them very significant. I think that it was in the early 1900’s because the ship is not powered by a motor.
Summary of The wretched stone: first it started as a good voyige the sailors were happy but they ran ashore and they found a strange stone. They instisteded in bringing it aboard then next few days, the sailors did not dance or sing they spent all thier time stareing at the stone. One day the main character went down to see the stone, but instead of sailor there were apes. He instistead in throwing it over board when he did the sailors slowly turn back into human, but when they get back the people are normal but they still have a great love for banannas.

B:Its Calvin's Brithday. And he doesn't have a good start... First he puts a fake spider in his sister Trudy's bed, and gets in trouble for it. For his birthday he gets 2 tickets to see a magic show. Lomacks The Magnificent. His mom tells him it would be really nice for him to invite Trudy. But he ignores her and takes his other friend Rodney. At the show Lomacks turns a lady into thinking shes a chicken and clucks all over the stage! Rodney & Calvin are really amazed by this and want to try it at home.
When they get home from the Magnificent show They chat about trying it for them selves and hooks up cables to a spining disk. They call Trudy in to test it out. (Like Buster in the show Mythbusters) Anyway.....
M:When Trudy gets brought into the room they set her on a chair and get the disk spinning. she gets into a transe and Calvin says "You will become a dog" (or somthing close to that) and snaps his finger. Trudy starts to lick stuff and starts to act like a dog! Calvin and Rod got her into this trance. Question how do they get her out. They try snaping there fingers and say buditi and words close to PROBUDITI! but it doesn't work so they decide to go to Lomacks to find out the word. They plop Trudy into a waggon and start there long voyage up hills. When they get up a big hill and there in site of the Theater there also in site of an Ice Cream Parlor. They can't resest the ice cream and bring all there money together to buy one cone to share. When its calvins turn to eat the ice cream he gives a lick to Trudy and she licks and slobbers all over the cone. when they walk over to the theater they see Lomacks car, and try to run after it but its to fast for there legs and trudys waggon.
E:When they walk home they get an idea. They want to try and scare the dog out of Trudy by throwing a cold bucket of water on her head. It works but sadly when they get her out of it 1 she starts crying 2 her mom has just pulled into the drive way. So like at the beginning of the book Calvin gets in trouble and gets sent upto his room without his SUPPER. His sister Trudy comes up with some PB&J. And asks Calvin what happened today. He said i wouldn't think you'd remember. Then when Trudy is leaving the room shes says. "oh yeah and that chocolate ice cream was really yummy"

I liked Probuditi a lot but I like Zathura the best because, of the games, the two brother were Fighting and the robot. I liked Probuditi’s illustrations better because Trudy is hypnotized and she looks strange.

I am being forced to do a book response and comparisan. I am comparing the book Probuditi to another booked called Jumanji. They are both by the same author, Chris Van Allsburg.
I didn't like this book. I thought that it had no point to it. I like this author but this is definatly not one of his best books.
Summary:
It was Calvins birthday. He got in trouble for putting a spider in Trudy's (his little sister) bed. His Mom gave him two tickets to a famous magigain. His mom wanted him to take his little sister but he chose his friend that lived next door instead. Hs name was Rodney.
At the magic show they are astounished to see him pull a burning candle through is ear. Then he tricked someone to think that she was a chicken,
he did it with a hypno ray. When Calvin and Rodney got home Calvin's mom told them that she was going so they had to watch over Trudy while she was gone. Calvin and Rodney got bored so they decided to make thier own hypno ray. They trick Trudy into being a dog. They take her outside. She chases squirrls and birds around the yard. They cannot figure out how to change her back so they take her to see Lomack the great. They take her all the way to the Matinee Theater but when they get there he is just leaving. They couldn't figure outh how too bring her out of her trance but suddenly Rodney has a great idea. Together the bang trash can lids and pour ice cold water on her she suddenly is Trudy again! Just as thier mom comes to the drivway trudy starts to cry. Thier mom puts calvin in his bedroom and he doesn't get his birthday dinner.
