Acts of Kindness- Given and Received

In this time between Martin Luther King Day and Valentine's Day, I Invite us all to practice act of kindness to others- thoughtful and compassionate acts toward others. Please look up in the dictionary and write a personal definition of the words kindness and compassion. For your first post, write... " Compassion and Kindness mean _________to Me. " Then give several sentences of specific acts you have recently done toward others or specific things others have done toward you!

With the snow and the slipping and sliding, I decided, even being sick , to shovel the sidewalk for my neighbors who were out this evening. I wonder what things we can all do to show compassion and kindness toward others?

Kindness and Respect

Hello everyone,

I am hopeful everyone had a relaxing weekend. I was able to get a bit of skiing in and I think in hindsight, I should have stayed in bed! I have a bad cold and hope to be over it soon!

I want us to think of something that has been on my mind a lot lately: kindness and respect. I have been thinking about what they mean to me and how I act with kindness and respect toward others. I am thinking about ways I can become more thoughtful and considerate.

Think about how you treat others with kindness and how you would like to treated. How do we treat others? The substitute, our friends, Mr.Leger, Jeff, our parents? If we sometimes are not kind and respectful, I wonder what we are feeling about ourselves? I believe when we act in ways other than with kindness, we are really about something that is bothering us... a friend has said when we act mean toward others, "look in the mirror" and think about what you are feeling about yourself.

Write at least 6 sentences about kindness and respect and how you might grow in this area...
